Abstract

A cell model of juvenile idiopathic arthritis produced by treating rheumatoid arthritis cells with bone morphogenetic protein 4 until they display JIA-like characteristics.

Juvenile disease models are scarce because juvenile tissue is scarce. Deriving one from adult cells is a workaround for a real bottleneck, and the validation is whether the derived cells behave like the disease.
