Fill this in on paper first. Designing in the software before deciding the content is how boards end up 80% text.
One-sentence takeaway. If a judge remembers one sentence, what is it? Write it. This goes bottom-right, in the largest body type on the board.
Figure list. For each: what it shows, why it earns its space, and the caption sentence stating the finding. If you cannot write that sentence, cut the figure.
Section word budgets. Introduction 60, Methods 70, Results 90, Conclusion 60, Future work 30. Total 310. Write to the budget, then cut 15%.
Block sketch. Draw the three columns on paper and mark each block: title band, question, methods diagram, Figures 1–3, conclusion, references, acknowledgements. Confirm the reading path is unambiguous.
Board checks. Does it stand up on its own? Is your name and the year on it? Is there a QR code or a handout for people who want detail? Do the printed colours match what you saw on screen?
